With today's debut of My Monroe, Monroe's new personalized interactive web portal, life at Monroe just got a lot friendlier. Logon to My Monroe at http://mymonroe.monroecollege.edu/ and you'll find personalized information about your classes, attendance, grades, access to a variety of student services, college announcements and events, and much, much more.
"My Monroe is a cutting-edge application of technology that will benefit everyone in the Monroe community," said Chief Information Officer Terrence McGowan. "Students will be able to monitor their progress much more carefully, faculty will have vastly-improved access to educational resources, and we will all be able to tap into news and information about the college and the rest of the world with the simple click of a mouse."
Developed by Department of Information Technology wizards Wilson Polanco and Anthony Rodriguez, My Monroe is completely customizable so the user can have the most important information readily available. For example, if a student has embarked on an aggressive job search, then "My OCA" can be placed at the top of the page. Students concerned about attendance and grades can do the same with those windows. Of course, the latest news, sports, and entertainment is available, too.
In addition to all the college and world-wide topical information, one useful gadget of My Monroe that will surely help students is "Electronic Databases" with personalized access to all electronic library databases like Voyager, NetLibrary, Proquest, LexisNexus, and numerous others.
"Our staff did a phenomenal job in making My Monroe available," said Mr. McGowan, "and over time we're going to discover new and better ways to utilize this innovative concept that will continue to support our unwavering mission of building student success."
