A fixture in the Fordham section of the Bronx since 1967, the Monroe College Bronx campus provides students with a wide array of educational experiences within a distinctly urban setting. With its seven buildings, Monroe’s Bronx campus is an integral part of one of the borough’s most well-known areas. The Fordham shopping district adds a noticeable vibrancy to Bronx campus life. It is comprised of approximately 80 buildings and almost 300 businesses ranging from nationwide chains to locally-owned independent shops.
A major advantage of the Bronx campus is its proximity to New York City’s major resources and attractions. The Fordham station of the Lexington Avenue #4 subway line is just yards from the campus and students, faculty and staff, routinely take the Jerome Avenue “el” to commute to the college and also for business and leisure jaunts into Manhattan.
Monroe has historically been an active participant in community development and Bronx campus buildings are distinct for their stately appearance and secure, well-lit exteriors.
