On Wednesday, May 25 the Monroe College Athletic Department held its annual awards dinner at Maestro’s Caterers on Bronxdale, Avenue. Awards were presented to student athletes on each of Monroe’s teams: Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, Coaches Award, and Rookie-of-the-Year.

Monroe’s Female Athlete of the Year Award was presented to Jennifer Griffin, a sophomore captain of the women’s basketball team. The Male Athlete of the Year was Nir Cohen, a sophomore forward on the men’s basketball team.

In addition, an award is presented each year to one Monroe athlete in the memory of Bob Greenberg, a friend of the college and ardent supporter of Mustang athletics. This year’s recipient was softball and volleyball player Lakeisha Milstrey.
