Cake Auction Raises Funds For Study Abroad

On Tuesday, July 25th, the Monroe College Culinary arts program held its first-ever cake auction featuring scrumptious triple-decker cakes created by the Cake Baking and Cake Decorating classes. More than $300 was raised for the Monroe College Foundation for the Study Abroad program as participants came away with Jamaican Rum, Double-chocolate Fudge, and Peach Blossom cakes. According to Chef Daniel Hinder, the Director of Culinary Arts at Monroe, this is the first of what will be many such auctions which will include the general public.
