College Credit for High School Students

High School juniors and seniors can earn three college credits in the free Monroe College Jumpstart program that begins in the Bronx on Saturday, September 23 and in New Rochelle on Saturday, September 30.  Jumpstart allows high school students to get a head start on their college education. In a fifteen-week course, the students study from top-notch professors in a college setting, while earning three college credits.

Last year more than 500 high school students benefited from this free educational opportunity.  “Jumpstart provides unmatched experience,” said Seth Goodman, Coordinator of Monroe’s High School Programs. “The high school students not only begin to understand how to learn at the college level and earn credits towards their college education before they graduate from high school, but they also will leave high school better educated.”

Jumpstart courses are offered in accounting, business, criminal justice, culinary arts, health administration, hotel and restaurant management, medical assisting, and technology.  For an application or more information, contact Seth Goodman at 718-933-6700x8575 or  sgoodman@monroecollege.edu . Registration for Jumpstart on the Bronx campus is Saturday, September 23 at  8:30am in Monroe College’s King Hall and in New Rochelle on Saturday, September 30 at 8:30am in Milevac Hall.
