This says a lot about the commitment Monroe has to student success in and out of the classrooms and on and off the playing fields.” The Lady Mustangs came into the tournament as the undefeated, number one seed, with a 22-0 conference record. They reached the final game by beating Nassau, 78-39 in Saturday’s semifinal. They now qualify for the eight-team NJCAA, Division III National Tournament which begins on Thursday, March 16 at Mohawk CC, Utica, NY. The Mustangs came into the tournament as the number two seed, with a 2-2 conference record, with those two losses coming against (#1) Globe. On Saturday they won the semifinal game, 73-66, over Westchester CC. They will now compete in the four-team District III tournament, to be played on March 10-11 in Aiken, South Carolina. Monroe’s first opponent is Clinton Junior College of Rock Hill, SC. The game time is 5pm. The NJCAA, Division I National Tournament is March 21- 25 in Hutchinson, Kansas. |
