Monroe Midnight Madness - College To Stay Open Late For Adult Students

In recognition of the changing nature of college students, Monroe College will be holding a special Midnight Madness Open House to help adult students register for the Winter, 2007 Semester.

On Thursday, December 28, Monroe will keep the doors on its Bronx campus open until midnight so that hard-working adult students can register for college after they finish work (or even after dinner!).

"Our degrees are designed for success in the real world", explained Director of Admissions Evan Jerome, and the reality for so many of our students is a daily work schedule. Midnight Madness is our way of saying to them: you can work, have a family, and still get the college degree you need to move ahead in your career.

A follow-up to the Admissions All-nighter the college instituted in the fall, Midnight Madness is going to feature Hollywood-style klieg lights, live jazz music, a caricaturist, T-shirt giveaways, and catering by Salsa Caterers.

Our class schedules are custom-designed for maximum flexibility, said Mr. Jerome, there's no reason why our enrollment schedule can't provide the same convenience and support for'working students, especially adults. Throughout Midnight Madness, new students, students returning to Monroe, and transfer students who qualify can complete the entire admissions process application, placement testing, transfer credit evaluation, acceptance, financial aid, and registration.

Monroe College operates on a trimester schedule with Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions that allows students to earn their degrees faster than with traditional two-semester schedules. Monroe Winter, 2007 semester begins on Thursday, January 4.
