On Thursday, October 19 the Dean of the Monroe College School for Hospitality and the Culinary Arts, Luke Schultheis, was the Principal for a Day at Discovery High School on the Walton campus in the Bronx. Dean Schultheis visited classes and spoke with faculty and students throughout the day, encouraging the students to pursue college after they graduate from HS. He was very impressed with the personal attention and collaborative learning in the school, which is similar to the philosophy at Monroe College. “This school is a real gem,“ Dean Schultheis said. “You can see the focus and drive in the faculty which instantly permeates into the students who evidenced real learning.”
