Monroe Hosts Grantmakers Bronx Week Event

On Tuesday, June 19 Monroe College hosted a day-long "Meet the Grantmakers Symposium" that was part of Bronx week.  More than one hundred representatives from a broad range of not-for-profit and community-based organizations came to the college's King Hall gym on Jerome Avenue in the Fordham section of the Bronx to network with corporate executives and other potential granters and funders.  There were also workshops about Developing a Board of Directors and Strategic and Technology Planning.  Participants were enthusiastic about the event, which was presented by the Neighborhood Technical Assistance Clinic and sponsored by Verizon, JP Morgan Chase, the United Way, Macy's, and the Independence Community Foundation.
