Monroe Prof Runs City Isl. Restaurant
Monroe College Culinary Professor Chef Wilson Njenga (far right) owns and operates Caribbean Island Restaurant, a fantastic, new City Island hotspot at 435 City Island Avenue. Chef Njenga employs Monroe College Hospitality and Culinary students in both the back and front of the house parts of the restaurant’s operation. On, January 31, a busy Wednesday night at the restaurant, Channel 9 news anchor (and City Island resident) Mike Gilliam (rear, center) stopped by to share a few smiles with the staff and enjoy some first-rate Caribbean cuisine.
