Walking to Save Lives!

Monroe students took a long walk to save lives!  Last week a number of Monroe students walked through the night to support the American Cancer Society and to raise funds.   Our Mustang mascot (played by Kenroy Walters) proved to have the most stamina.  He started walking the track at approximately 8:30 pm and did not rest until about 3 am!

The event ended at 7:00 am with a bagel breakfast and an announcement that the Monroe College Student Clubs and Organizations, with the support of the Monroe Community, raised a little over $2,000 dollars.

The students have now moved on to volunteer on Thursday evenings at a Food Pantry in Mt. Vernon and they’ll be wrapping up this semester’s support of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
