School of Accounting Partners with High Schools

The School of Business and Accounting has partnered with three Westchester County high schools to teach accounting. Professor Max Torres will be teaching at Lincoln and Saunders High Schools in Yonkers and Peekskill High School. The goal is take the college-level curriculums to the high schools and have the students start their college studies while still enrolled in high school.

“There are many students who deserve the opportunity to accelerate their education, “ said Monroe Accounting Chairman Jacob Lamar. “This way, they get their first taste of college, they earn the credits which are applicable to any college they choose to attend, and most imortantly, they have boosted their accounting knowledge and abilities considerably.”

The students will earn three college credits for the course, which is offered at no charge to the students.
