Walton, NY—while others may shiver at the thought of minus 8 degrees, it was perfect weather for an American Culinary Federation sanctioned ice carving competition. Monroe Culinary students Jesus Alvarez and Cuauhtemoc Cortez earned a gold and silver medals respectively at the 2nd annual Winterfest held Saturday, January 22 at the Delaware County fairgrounds in Walton, NY. The students participated in a one day ice-carving workshop in Delhi, NY, arranged by Dean Costantino in conjunction with Chef Thomas Recinella, Coach of the SUNY Delhi ice carving team. |
