On Wednesday, March 23 the Monroe College Office of Career Advancement (OCA) held its annual Job and Internship Fair. This year’s event was the largest in the college’s history as more than 100 potential employers greeted more than 950 Monroe students and alums.
“The job fair defied the current economy because of the effort we put into preparing students for the real world of work,” said Carol Genese, Dean of the OCA. “Many employers said they had not seen better-prepared students than what they found at Monroe. Resumes were well-crafted, students were dressed impeccably and they were well-researched. As a result, many have already received interviews, job offers, and internships.”
The OCA’s internship program places more than a thousand interns each year and the companies become an ongoing resource in helping provide experiential learning as well as paths to full-time employment.
