Graduation Ceremonies 2012

Graduation is an exciting time in your life, and it represents both past success and future promise. In honor of your achievement, the college community is pleased to invite you to participate in the Graduation Gala and 2012 Commencement Exercises.

As a graduate of Monroe College, you will become part of a proud tradition of accomplished individuals who, through hard work, dedication and commitment, have achieved a milestone in academic success.

Important Information

GALA Dinner: This dinner and awards ceremony celebrates your accomplishments.

Award Recipients: Summa Cum Laude graduates will receive Academic Distinction and will be recognized at the Gala. Students graduating Cum Laude (3.4 – 3.59), Magna Cum Laude (3.6 – 3.79), and Summa Cum Laude

(3.8 – 4.0) will have their distinction noted in the Commencement Program.

Time:

10:00 am- School of Allied Health, School of Business &Accounting, School of Nursing, Master of Business Administration in Business Management

3:00 pm- School of Criminal Justice, School of Hospitality Management & The Culinary Arts, School of Information Technology, Master of Science in Criminal Justice

Tickets: Four guest tickets will be given per graduate

Graduates should plan to arrive an hour before the start of your ceremony with your academic attire. Please be sure that you eat a light snack before you leave home. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Students who receive academic distinction at the Gala as well as Honors Program graduates should wear their medals and/or honors stoles to commencement.

The academic processions will begin promptly at 10:00am and 3:00pm

Commencement Ceremony

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

Guests: Each guest must have a ticket (no exceptions) and arrive no later than 9:00 (for morning grads) and 2:00(for the afternoon grads).

Attire: Please remember to bring your graduation attire with you. Members of the college staff as well as Jostens will be there to assist you with your cap and gown.

Name card: You will receive your name card at the Grad Finale. Please bring your name card with you to the Commencement Ceremony. The name card is used to call your name when you cross the stage.
