A group of chefs from 12 leading hotels in Saint Lucia leave their pots and knives and kitchens behind once a week and come to Monroe College Saint Lucia Campus to learn about ways to improve their supervisory management skills.
With the blessings of Frank Costantino, Dean, School of Hospitality Management and the Culinary Arts, Monroe College is working with the St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA).
The purpose of the programme is to: enhance the quality of the delivery service; and to strengthen the capacity to cope effectively with staff and food problems from a managerial perspective. Apart from a review of the expectations for international cuisine, the 12 chefs will improve their communications skills, learn about conflict resolution, and build IT skills while promoting core values of professionalism, trust, empathy, accountability and compassion. |
