On Sunday, December 2 Monroe College held its annual Holiday Party for the college community. More than 1,000 people attended the celebration which included many of the children’s favorite characters, face painting, fun tattoos, sweets, a clown, gifts for every child, and of course Santa Claus. Staffed by dozens of volunteers from the Monroe staff and faculty, the party has become an annual tradition at the college.
“It is truly a treat to see the faces of the children light up as they make their way through King Hall, which our staff decorated as a Winter Wonderland from the front doors all the way through the corridors and into the gym” said Monroe President Stephen Jerome . “Holiday time is a time for sharing,” he said, “and what better way than to bring the Monroe family together? This kind of event is what makes Monroe College unique and while it does take some commitment, the smiles on the children and their parents make it all worth it.” |
