Honors Induction Ceremony

In a celebration in the Bronx Annex twenty-four students from the Bronx and New Rochelle campuses were inducted into the Monroe College Honors Program, bringing the total number of honors students enrolled in the program to 110.  The students were welcomed by President Stephen Jerome, as well as several distinguished Monroe College executives, the Honors Board, faculty, and administrators.

Dr. Donald Simon, one of the founders of the honors  program, talked about the challenges of studying at a more rigorous level, but also said that the range of experiences that the Honors Program provides make the entire program not only rewarding, but fun.  “Learning should be enjoyable,” he said.

Also at the induction were a number of Honors Program alumni, who not only have completed their work in the honors program, but all of whom have enrolled in graduate studies and the Student Advisory Council.
