On Tuesday, May 18 at 6:30pm Monroe College Online will sponsor a Bronx week event at the Monroe College Annex at 2426 Jerome Avenue, that will demonstrate how it’s possible for adult students to earn a college degree while maintaining family and employment responsibilities.

“With our easy-to-use and efficient course management system, Monroe Online has enabled hundreds of adults earn their college degree while keeping up with job and family responsibilities,” said Executive Director of Online Programs Craig Patrick.  “Most adults do not have the luxury of time or money to take off from work for a few years to attend college.  That’s where Monroe Online comes in.”

At the information session the Monroe Online staff will be on-hand to answer all questions about earning a degree online.  Also, there will be demonstrations of actual online classes, the easy-to-use course management system, as well as exploration of how online study can be blended into a demanding life-style.

“This Bronx Week event will dispel many myths about taking an online class,” said Mr. Patrick.  “Some think you need to be a technology expert, or that classes are impersonal, or that there’s no interaction with professors,” he said.  “This couldn’t be further from the truth!” 

Dubbed Education for the Real World, Monroe Online Bachelor’s and Associate programs include business management, criminal justice, health services administration, hospitality management, information technology, and medical administration.

“If you have never seen an online class before, this is a great opportunity to see what it’s like and ask questions about earning a college degree and still have maximum flexibility for family, work, and other responsibilities,” said Mr. Patrick.  “It's also a perfect fit for those students who don't live or work in proximity of Monroe's campuses.”
