The Writing Center is a professional, academic environment established to provide a service to current Monroe College students and alumni. On staff are 10 professional tutors and 6 peer editors who work one-on-one in a cooperative manner with students to help improve students’ English writing skills.

Free tutoring is available for any stage of the writing process, and in any course that assigns writing. The process is designed to help students become better communicators in all subjects.

The Writing Center is located in King Hall, room 214. We offer the following equipment and software:

  • 45 computers running Windows 7
  • 3 B/W laser printers
  • Internet access
  • Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Suite
  • SAGE Microlab
  • Adobe Reader

Students who need additional help with homework or other assignments that are course specific may visit the satellite labs located in various buildings on campus.
