Registered Nursing
Associate (A.A.S.) Degree Program The Monroe College Nursing Program is a 1+1 program as students accepted into the nursing program can become registered nurses after two-years. The first year of the program provides the foundation for the RN curriculum. It is a certificate program in which the student earns 49 college credits. Upon successful completion of the certificate program, the student will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) to obtain his/her LPN license. The second year, the students who pass the NCLEX-PN may be eligible to continue on to the second year in the RN curriculum. The RN curriculum is a 39-credit program that culminates in an earned Associate Degree. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to obtain his/her RN license. Please note that this program requires serious time commitment. The student must meet progression requirements each semester for continuation from the LPN curriculum into the RN curriculum. |
