Registered Nursing (A.A.S)

Program Description:

The Monroe College Associates in AppliedScience(A.A.S) Degree program is a 1 + 1 LPN to RN program. Licensed Practical Nurses have the opportunity to earn their A.A.S in 3 semesters. The curriculum has been developed in accordance with the philosophy and goals of the college and provides the students the education needed as a registered nurse. Nursing courses involve classroom instruction as well as laboratory simulation and clinical experiences. Upon completion of the program the student is awarded an A.A.S. in Nursing and is eligible to take the NCLEX–RN.

Nursing classes are only offered during the day and nursing students are usually on campus from 9:00am-5:00pm daily. Nursing students are highly discouraged from working full-time while attending school.
