Hospital Administrator

Doctors and nurses provide patient care but it is the hospital administrator who cares for and manages every aspect of the medical facility. Hospital administrators are responsible for staff recruitment, expanding research programs, budget development, public relations, and more. It is not a 9 to 5 profession; hospital administrators must be available 24/7 to resolve all manner of staff, patient and organizational issues. Success in a hospital administration career requires leadership, critical thinking, results-oriented focus, advanced health-related knowledge, and exemplary interpersonal skills.

The Monroe College Bachelor’s Degree Program in Health Services Administration provides students with a comprehensive education and real-world involvement. Our faculty is comprised of current and former healthcare administrators at the city, state, and federal levels. They work closely with students developing a relevant, highly topical course curriculum. Classroom instruction is coupled with hands-on work experience in leading hospitals and government agencies giving Monroe graduates a competitive edge in the job market.

Bachelor’s Degree Program graduates can either immediately enter the workforce or continue their education in the Master’s Degree track. The majority of hospital administrator positions require a Master’s level education. Career opportunities within hospital administration include health services manager, preventive care administrator, and healthcare administrator. Visit here to learn how Monroe College can prepare you for a career in hospital administration.
