An Associate degree program in Sports Management can offer students the opportunity to learn to utilize business skills in a sports industry. - Athletic Director – Provide guidance and direction for a sports program, prepare a budget and allocate spending on items like coach’s salaries, team travel, equipment purchases, and facility upkeep. - Sports Agent – Negotiates employment and endorsement deals for an athlete or coach. An agent receives a commission for their services between 4 and 10%. The agent also may assist in public relations and all aspects of their client’s finances.
- Sports Information Director – Handles the distribution of information regarding athletic programs. Sports Information Directors attend sporting events and writes recaps of the games before sending it to media outlets. During games, they distribute statistics and inform reporters if any records were broken.
- Stadium Business Managers – Oversees all aspects of the stadium, maintain budgets, up keeping, and find creative ways to fill seats on a constant basis. Stadium Business Managers also manage the booking of events including sports and concerts.
