Welcome to The Culinary Institute of New York 

Located in both New Rochelle and the Bronx – just 25 minutes from New York City and its 23,000 restaurants – the Culinary Institute of New York (CINY) offers you a hospitality management and culinary arts education that encompasses passion, professionalism, and pride.

Since its founding in 2009, our program has produced award-winning culinary teams, students, faculty and staff, as well as a critically acclaimed student-run restaurant. CINY provides students with a combination of theoretical education and hands-on experience in culinary arts, pastry arts and hospitality management.

CINY has been ranked #7 in best colleges for culinary arts by niche.

Hands-On Student Experience

Real World Learning

Our critically acclaimed student run restaurant, The Dining Lab, has been deemed a “training ground for students” by The Wall Street Journal and "the little kitchen that could" by The New York Times. Our Pastry Kiosk provides a delicious spot for our campus community to grab lunch throughout the day and offers delicious desserts from our students working in the culinary lab.

Our culinary competition team has won more than 1,000 ACF medals and was named the 2019 Northeast Regional Champions. Try-outs start your first year on campus.

America’s Best High School Chef Competition (ABHSC) is dedicated to providing a high quality educational experience for high school seniors.

Our Head Chef 

Frank Costantino, Ed.D CEC CCE CCA AAC

 
Dean Costantino has extensive experience as a restaurant chef in some of the finest NYC restaurants. He is recognized as one of New York State’s top culinary coaches, leading CINY’s student teams to over 900 competition medals, including the 2019 ACF New York State Championships and and 2018 Northeast regional championships. He is a certified culinary educator as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Chefs.

ACF Accreditation

The Culinary Institute of New York is accredited by the American Culinary Federation’s Educational Foundation (ACFEF) which in turn is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) . Postsecondary Accreditation and Secondary Certification by American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission assures that a program is meeting at least a minimum of standards and competencies set for faculty, curriculum and student services. Upon graduation from our AAS in Culinary Arts or Baking and Pastry Arts, students automatically meet the requirements for certification as Certified Culinarian CC® or Certified Pastry Culinarian CPC®.
