Gourmet Market Chef

Gourmet food markets provide customers with meal options that are local and organic. They also offer ready-made recipes artfully crafted on the premises. Gourmet market chefs conceptualize and create these fresh and healthy culinary options. Success as a gourmet food chef requires creativity, skill, and leadership.

The Monroe College School of Hospitality Management and the Culinary Arts in New Rochelle prepares students to realize their culinary careers goals. Students learn from experts in the field including executive chefs, restaurant managers, and local producers. Admittance into the program is highly selection and the curriculum is intense. From food induction and rethermalization to staff management and local ordering, instructors teach every aspect of the culinary process. Students later apply what they’ve learned to their real-world culinary practicum working in high end restaurants, alongside personal chefs, and at catering companies.

Upon earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Monroe graduates can either pursue their desired gourmet food chef career or continue with their education in the Master’s track. For more information on how Monroe College can get you closer to your chosen career, visit here.
