The School of Information Technology operates more than 500 computers in twenty different classrooms which are outfitted with the latest available technology that is continually upgraded. In addition to traditional computer classrooms that are outfitted with networked PC's, there are multi-media labs with audio/video, fax, and color-printing capabilities. Also, the School of IT has a number of projector classrooms that are designed to facilitate learning and all classrooms are outfitted with Visions software to maximize the effect of demonstrations and instructor support and monitoring of student comprehension. On the Bronx campus, there is a brand new Mac lab with 25 iMacs which feature the latest user-friendly audio/visual software and technology. The School of IT's resource center features a variety of software including Dreamweaver, Printshop, Bloodshed C++, Orack 91, Flash, and Unix. Ever-mindful that the effect of technology is limited if not properly applied, tutors abound in the Resource center and act as guides for students working on homework, projects, or just studying for fundamental understanding. |
