General education courses are a core element of all Monroe College degree programs. These courses provide students with a broad foundation of knowledge and skills desired by employers. General education is the portion of the curriculum that develops students’ skills and abilities in the following areas: effective communication, critical thinking, information literacy, quantitative literacy, personal development, and social understanding and responsibility.
These courses compliment major area, skill-based courses to create a curriculum that produces students who possess specialized major area knowledge, as well as, the ability to analytically, creatively, and practically apply that knowledge. |
