The Monroe College Associates in Applied Science (A.A.S) Degree program is a 1 + 1 LPN to RN program. Licensed Practical Nurses have the opportunity to earn their A.A.S in 3 semesters. The curriculum has been developed in accordance with the philosophy and goals of the college and provides the students the education needed as a registered nurse. Nursing courses involve classroom instruction as well as laboratory simulation and clinical experiences. Upon completion of the program the student is awarded an A.A.S. in Nursing and is eligible to take the NCLEX–RN.

Adults who are seeking a change in career and have limited or no college credits.
The progressive nursing program allows students to earn a LPN certificate in the first year, an RN Associate degree in the second year and a Bachelor’s degree in the third year. The length of the program is 9 semesters (3 academic years).
