Cherif Ndiaye ‘98

Cherif Ndiaye came to the United States in 1993 as an international student from Senegal. He graduated from Monroe College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 1998. He later went on to the South University of Savannah where he completed a MBA degree with high honors.
While attending Monroe, he worked as the General Manager for Pizza Hut as well as Wendy’s. After successfully completing his degree, he joined the Progressive Group of Insurance Companies as a Claims Representative in New York. After transferring to Atlanta in 2001 he was promoted to Supervisor, Branch Manager, and then to Regional Manager for the Savannah, Georgia area in 2007. Currently, he is the Claims Director of the Greater New Orleans area. He manages approximately 100 employees consisting of Managers, Supervisors, Claim Representative and Administrative Personnel. He says that his education at Monroe College has opened the door for him and has played a vital role throughout his career at Progressive.
As he has done in the past, he intends to continue to be an ambassador to Monroe College; to recruit more international students to come and take advantage of the wonderful benefits that Monroe College has to offer. He emphasizes that his experience at Monroe College has been a memorable one. The individual attention and support from the professors, staff members, and the President have truly exceeded his expectations.
Cherif enjoys travelling, soccer as well as NBA basketball. He has kept the connection with the college and has made it a tradition to attend the Florida Alumni reception yearly, to meet other alumni and share his experiences. Now that he is living in Louisiana, he intends to maintain the tradition. |
