Thereze Ovid is a Senior Human Resources professional with over six years of hands-on experience in the area of Human Resources and Business Management.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago she received her BBA in Business Management and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Monroe College in 2003. She later graduated with a MBA degree in Human Resources in 2005.
Since then, her business management experience and training have allowed her to go beyond the realm of human resources to achieve performance targets and deliver quality results. Her responsibilities include developing and maintaining strategic relationships with special interest groups to promote company-wide recruiting efforts as well as promoting positive company culture through diversity initiatives, reward & recognition programs, company newsletters and employee events.
Kantar Media, where she is currently employed, is a company that provides internet, TV, and radio audience measurement worldwide and strategic advertising intelligence to advertisers, advertising agencies and media properties. She is responsible for the day to day HR functions such as Recruitment and Staffing, Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations and Training for the New York corporate office. Thereze is fully conversant in human resources management policy, practice and procedures, as well as specific industry requirements and applicable laws. Thereze is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Association of New York (HRNY).
Thereze is an active member of the Monroe College Alumni Association. She is a strong believer of giving back to the next generation so she mentors and provides job search and resume assistance, as well as career guidance and advice to graduating students.
Thereze is a Pro-Bono HR Consultant for the Taproot Foundation where she applies her HR knowledge and expertise to assist non-profit organizations. She is a panelist for P.E.T.A.L. (Positively Empowering Teen Girls About Life, Inc.), a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster and support teen girls through empowerment conferences, educational forums, awareness workshops, and on-line resources. |
