Thomas Dunn II - Head Coach of Track and Field
Coach Dunn comes to Monroe with extensive experience as a coach and teacher. Ultimately Coach Dunn made his mark as the Head Track Coach from 2004-2007 at Norman Thomas HS, New York, NY. Before that he was selected to coach the 1996-97 NYS Boys Qualifying team at the Indoor Championships, the Boys City Indoor Championship team in 1995-96 and led the Brooklyn Tech team to be first runner-up in the 1996-97 indoor season. In fact, he coached the Boy's national 4x800m champion. Coach Dunn was the Assistant track Coach at St. Francis College from 1997-2000 and a Brooklyn Tech Track Coach from 1993-1997. He received a Master of Arts Degree from the NYU School of Education, Health, Nursing, and Arts Professions in 1992, a BS from the LIU school of Business, Public Administration and Information Sciences in 1990. Currently Coach Dunn is a teacher of Accounting and Business Practices at Norman Thomas HS. |
Zulamis R Narcisse – Assistant Coach
Coach Narcisse has a passion for track which explains why she began in October, 2006 as a volunteer coach for the Zodiacs Track Club located in the Bronx. There she trained girls and boys ages 5-18. Soon she became the Head Women’s coach for the club. Under her tutelage, five girls made it to the finals at Madison Square Garden Colgate Women’s Games where they had placements in the top five. Also, one boy competed in the Melrose Games in the 55m dash, finishing fourth. In the 2007 Reebok Games, her athletes finished in the top three positions in the 100M dash. Currently Coach Narcisse is an Habilitation Specialist at ARC of Rockland, where she teaches adults with mental disabilities such as autism, retardation, and cerebral palsy. In February, 2004, she received her BA from St. Francis College. |
