Getting involved with a club or student group is one of the best ways to utilize the skills students learn in the classroom while meeting new people and having some fun. Clubs give students the opportunity to further explore the subjects and issues that interest them the most in an environment where they can take on strong leadership roles.

Below is a list of student clubs and contact information for faculty and staff advisors. For any other club-related inquiries, please contact the Office of Student Services in the Bronx or New Rochelle.

Focus on the ever growing field of computers by enhancing the student’s involvement through events, shows and hands on experiences.

The MSA seeks to promote an understanding and appreciation of diversity and cultural exchange through structured activities designed to engage the Monroe student body at large. By channeling meaningful dialogue through academic, artistic and career-focused expression, MSA seeks to encourage involvement on campus and thereby enable success at Monroe College.

NSMH is the premier professional organization for minority hospitality students. NSMH addresses diversity and multiculturalism, as well as the career development of student members. These are vital lessons for the future leaders of this industry and anyone of any ethnicity, gender, or other demographic group can benefit from this dialogue.

NSMH provides events and programs that bring together students with company sponsors, industry representatives, other hospitality organizations, advisors and mentors, and even high school students who are studying hospitality. NSMH aims to be a total resource center: a source for the industry to find dynamic talent and for students to find answers to relevant questions that give them a window into the industry that awaits them. NSMH is open to all students, not just hospitality majors.

The Monroe College award-winning SIFE chapter is an organization that gives students the tools to learn the free enterprise system in a real working situation. Students apply what they're learning in the classroom and use their knowledge to better their communities through helping existing businesses and guiding new start-ups.

Guided by faculty advisors, SIFE teams establish a variety of community outreach programs that teach free enterprise. Specifically, SIFE teams mobilize to go into the community and teach concepts such as budgeting, accounting and important economic concepts such as supply and demand. They help budding entrepreneurs get their plans off the ground and mentor at-risk students, inspiring them to reach for their dreams.

In 2005, the Bronx chapter of the Monroe College SIFE team won the national championship in the annual SIFE competition. A picture of the victors appeared on a Wheaties box for the accomplishment.

In the Bronx, Prof. Tilokie Depoo oversees SIFE, while Prof. Max Torres guides the New Rochelle team.
