Residence Hall Staff - Resident Directors (RD's)

The staff who live and work in Monroe residence halls are a special sort. They have dedicated themselves to ensuring that students have the most positive living and learning experience possible. Residence Directors (RD’s) are full-time, live-in professional staff members who are responsible for overseeing the Residence Halls and provide supervision to the Resident Assistants (RA’s). Residence Directors strive to establish an environment that fosters personal growth, academic achievement, embraces diversity, and the physical comfort and safety of residents. Their responsibilities include community and program development; conflict management and mediation; training, supervision and evaluation of student staff; reporting of building maintenance, custodial, safety and security issues; crisis intervention; and interpreting and enforcing College and residence hall rules and regulations.

Residence Hall Staff - Resident Assistants (RA's)

RA's are some of the most important people here at Monroe College. They are students, just like you, who have committed themselves to one of the most impressive leadership positions on campus. RA’s are student employees who live in the residence halls and serve as a primary resource for our residents. They develop programming to help build community and engage students outside the classroom. They are there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing resource information, crisis response, academic and social support, fun times, and a safe, comfortable living environment.

Students interested in becoming a Resident Assistant should stop by the Office of Residence Life in the Harrison Center for more information.
