Accomplishments/Past Events - 2009

On Friday, November 14th, the ITSA Club took a trip to the Sony Wonder Technology Lab in midtown Manhattan. At the Lab, students were able to partake in hands-on technology exhibits. They were able to customize access cards with their own picture and voice that were then used to activate the different exhibits. Some exhibits included the students recording themselves in motion and making animated character out of the movements, producing a short television show, creating movie trailers and testing out new video games.

The Lab helped the students learn about past, present, and future forms of technology. They saw the first cell phones and laptops which quite frankly, could not fit on anyone's lap! One student, Ivon Camacho, said that she learned that technology is an evolving field and that she's glad she's majoring in Information Technology. The trip opened her eyes to the opportunities she will have once she finishes her degree.
