Residence Life
Being a part of the Monroe residence life community means a lot more than just having a place to live in promximity to where you attend classes. Many college students find that living on campus with a group of motivated students from diverse backgrounds can be an enriching, life-altering experience. Living on campus means opening yourself up to new people, new opportunities and creating a home away from home.
The Monroe College Residence Life program is designed to maximize the value of the on-campus living experience for students. As a Residence Life students can expect to be exposed to new ideas and people from different backgrounds; develop interpersonal and self-management skills; understand and celebrate different perspectives; get out and experience all that New York and the surrounding area have to offer; and balance personal freedoms with responsibility and respect for others.
All Monroe residence halls are located in the heart of New Rochelle, a thriving suburban community in Westchester County. The campus is in close proximity to shops, neighborhood restaurants and the mammoth New Roc City entertainment and shopping complex that contains movie theaters, a skating rink and arcade. Nearby are parks and beaches along scenic Long Island Sound. Public transportation to New York City is a short walk from campus.
