Monroe College is committed to being a premier institution in the culinary field and likewise has committed to serving students top-quality cuisine in all of the college's dining halls. New chefs with assistance from culinary students have made on-campus dining an excellent, healthy option for students.
In New Rochelle, The Mustang Café, located in the Monroe Athletic Center (“The MAC”) is our main dining hall where students enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week during the semester. Students have numerous options including a selection of hot meals, a pasta and carving station, salad bar, sandwiches and other choices.
All student apartments on the New Rochelle campus come equipped with kitchens. Students living in the apartments can prepare their own meals, or buy a meal at the Mustang Cafe. Those living in Allison Hall have refrigerators and access to microwaves.
In the Bronx, fresh and inventive dishes are cooked up every day at The JAG in King Hall-a comfortable, spacious cafeteria with endless options and friendly service.
Students can choose to participate in one of the semester-long meal plans. The “Gold” meal plan includes 21 meals per week, plus $150 in Mustang Bucks that can be used in the dining halls to buy that extra snack or drink. Mustang Bucks can also be used at select outside restaurants around the New Rochelle campus.
The “Blue” meal plan includes 12 meals per week, ideal for those students who have want the flexibility to eat in the dining halls and cook for themselves.
Students who participate in one of the meal plans can take their meals in the Bronx or New Rochelle dining halls. Students can also purchase Mustang Bucks as fast and convenient payment method at the Monroe cafeterias.
