2. Who is eligible to utilize the services of the Office of Career Advancement?
We work with all currently enrolled students. We also assist alumni (lifetime free service), employers, faculty, and staff.

3. Do I need to make an appointment to meet with a Advisor?
No. We are happy to meet with anyone who comes to our offices. We suggest that you bring a recent resume (if one is available) and prepare a list of questions / topics that you wish to discuss. Should you prefer to set up an interview for a specific date and time, simply call our office.

4. What does the Office of Career Advancement do?
We assist you in all of your career planning efforts. We provide individual career counseling services, conduct workshops on resume writing, interviewing, networking, career planning, etc., locate full and part - time employment opportunites, coordinate an internship (co-operative education) program, provide career assessment, and host a number of on campus recruitment events and job fairs throughout the year.

5. When is the best time to register with the Office of Career Advancement?
It is never too early to begin planning your career! We strongly suggest you come to our office in your first year of studies, and then become a frequent visitor in succeeding years.

6. Can the Office of Career Advancement help me find an internship, or part - time job?
Yes. Internships are strongly suggested for all students and required by some majors. Come in, meet with our Internship Coordinator, who will explain the requirements and then work one on one with you in finding suitable internships in your major. Also, stop by Career Services to sign up to our job posting site  where you will find lists of part - time as well as full time job opportunities.

7. Can the Office of Career Advancement help me with my resume and cover letter?
Absolutely. We are happy to provide feedback on resumes and cover letters. We suggest you stop by with copies of both (preferably saved electronically) for immediate assistance. No appointment is necessary.

8. What is E-recruiting?
E-recruiting is our internet based tool that helps you search for all types of jobs (part - time, internships, entry level professional positions). You will need to contact the Office of Career Advancement to obtain a user name and password before using the site for the first time.

9. What if I am not familiar with how to write a professional resume?
Not a problem. Contact the Office of Career Advancement and we will be happy to give you sample resumes that will guide you through the process. You will then be asked to return with your resume for review.
