Parents and Children Together with Art (PACT) is an 8-week theme based art experience for families featuring activities designed to increase parental involvement and encourage positive family communication. With a 1-to-2 volunteer-to -family ratio, program facilitators and trained volunteers facilitate art projects that require collaboration of ideas and sustained teamwork. Spanish speakers are especially needed, as many of these families primarily speak Spanish. Time Commitment: 2.5 hours per week for 8 weeks; training prior to volunteering (3 hours); curriculum review prior to volunteering (3 hours)
Weekly Mentor Program (WMP) provides under-served youth ages 6-13 with regular opportunities to express themselves creatively and engage with positive adult role models. Led by a professional facilitator, teams of volunteer mentors work with small groups of youth at social service agencies and schools throughout NYC with volunteer-to-child ration of approximately 1-to-3.
