On February 25th, Monroe College’s Executive Vice President, Marc Jerome, hosted a dinner for the College’s Antiguan alumni.
The event took place at La Bussola Italian Restaurant and celebrated the successes of the 34 alumni who attended. Mr. Jerome was assisted by Monroe graduate, Javier Jacobs, who now resides in Antigua and assists students who are interested in studying at Monroe.
“This is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job,” commented Mr. Jerome. “It’s so great to see our former students doing so well in their chosen fields – and, for most of them, in their home country.”
Throughout the dinner, the alumni shared stories of success in their careers. Many have landed jobs at such reputable organizations such as KPMG, the FDIC, Digitel, and the Antigua & Barbuda Government in the Treasury Department, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Education. And, with positions such as General Manager, Chef, and Treasury Officer, the Monroe graduates’ impressive resumes provided a source of pride for Vice President Jerome.
“I am truly impressed with the level of professionalism and passion I see in our Antiguan alumni,” Mr. Jerome said. “I have no doubt that the dedication they demonstrated as Students have carried on into their professional lives.”
