Ustin Hall – Open for Business!

On Monday, February 11, Ustin Hall, the spectacular new home on the Bronx campus for the King Graduate School of Business and the School of Business, opened for classes. The 32,000 square-foot building has been named in honor of, Joan Ustin, the long-time chair of the college's board of trustees.

Ustin Hall contains offices for the School of Business and the King School of Business as well as five computer classrooms, two hybrid classrooms (computer stations as well as traditional student desks), 13 regular classrooms, a faculty lounge, student lounge, small café, and faculty offices.

The building was designed by architect Michael Just, AIA and interior finishes were developed by the architect and members of the college administration, including Director of Auxiliary Services Nivia Camara and Vice President for Administration David Dimond.

The most striking feature of the interior is a sweeping staircase that is at the opposite side of the lobby from the street entrance. Finishes and furnishings bring a subtle elegance to the facility that promotes academic activity. The exterior resembles the campuses' other structures with a brick façade highlighted by stone.

Ustin Hall is an attractive and welcome addition to the campus and its completion is a wonderful way to celebrate the college's 75th anniversary year. The formal dedication of Ustin Hall is scheduled for April 22, 2008.
