On Thursday, November 18th, a heated tent was erected in the Courtyard in New Rochelle. Inside, twinkling lights wrapped on the ceiling, candlelight and seasonal centerpieces set the stage for the 4th Annual International Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by the Office of International Student Services and the Multicultural Students Association (MSA). Over 150 students, faculty and staff enjoyed delicious food representing the diverse cultures at Monroe. Dean Frank Costantino produced amazing American Thanksgiving fare, while Chef Lucky Brandon's Intro to Culinary classes provided dishes from their heritage. Angelyn Forbes-Freeze, Associate Director of International Student Services, directed the culinary efforts of Asian and Caribbean students (with welcome advice from Chef Pellizzari), and students from Professor Gellman's Dining Room Management class assisted MSA members with set-up, serving, and breakdown after the event. Ms. Forbes-Freeze stated, "While the planning for an event with an unknown number of attendees is always a challenge, it is thrilling when everything comes together at the end. We would never be able to hold the International Thanksgiving Dinner without the advice, assistance and patience of everyone in the Culinary Arts Center and the planning and hard work of our students. Many, many thanks to all!"
