Monroe College - Free Application for Federal Student Aid

FAFSA on the Web 2012 - 2013

The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and must be completed to apply for any type of financial aid program.

1. Students will need to gather the following before beginning the FAFSA on the Web process:

Your Federal PIN
Social Security number
Eligible non-citizens need their alien registration number
Driver's license
2011 W-2 Forms and other records of money earned
2011 Federal Income Tax Return (and for spouse, if married)
2011 untaxed income records (Social Security, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Veterans Benefits records, child support received.

2. Complete the FAFSA

Campus-based Students	OnlineStudents
Students may complete the FAFSA on the Webat www.fafsa.gov. Use our school code for Monroe College 004799. Your information will be sent to Student Financial Services electronically in 4 days.	Students must go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and follow the directions given there.They must then print the confirmation page and electronically copy and paste the page totheir email. This email must be sent toatorres@monroecollege.edu for both freshman and continuing students.
New York State Residence Only Use your FAFSA confirmation page to link to TAP or go www.tapweb.org to apply. Use the right school code for your program and your information will be sent to Student Financial Services for consideration.	New York State Residence Only Once the FAFSA is complete, ifstudents are NYS residents, the link to TAP (TOTW) will appear on the last page. Students must complete the TAP Web application,electronically copy and paste the summary pages to their emails before submitting the application.This email mustbe sentto atorres@monroecollege.edu for both freshman and continuing students.
