The college’s fall Job and Internship Career Fair was a tremendous success. Eighty-eight employers attended the event and met with hundreds of students. Through the efforts of the Office of Career Advancement the fair attracted more employers than had ever attended prior fairs.
Students showed up “Dressed for Success,” with professional resumes in hand. The Office of Career Advancement published two employer directories, one each for undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, the Employer Directories were available online two weeks prior to the fair, enabling students to research the employers in advance of the event so they could demonstrate that they had done their “due diligence.”
Comments from students leaving the fair were very positive. Many noted that the diversity of employers was excellent. The look and quality of the Employer Directories elicited many positive comments from employers as well.
Following the fair, student participants and employers will be asked to provide data regarding the number of people who obtained positions or internships as a result of the event. In all, the fair was an outstanding success.
