1. Can I receive credit for military training?

Yes. Military training that's been evaluated by ACE can be accepted by a college either before or after you've separated from active duty.

2. Where may I obtain an application for education benefits?

Applications may be obtained from the Monroe College Veterans’ counselors, or you can download a copy from the veteran’s administration website.

3. Who is eligible for veterans’ education benefits?

Veterans, reservist, or active duty members that are currently in good standing with the department of defense and the department of veterans’ affairs are eligible to apply for veterans education benefits. (Navy, Air Force, Army, Army National Guard, Air National Guard, Coast Guard, Marines, and all reserve forces.) You can call 1888-GI-BILL (1-888-442-4551 or speak to one of the college veterans officers for further details.

Yes, please see your Education Officer at your command for details and limitations.

5. What happens if I am activated during the semester?

Monroe College supports our military students who are called away to active duty while they are in school. Monroe College is dedicated to giving students who have been deployed as much help as possible.Students have the option of either continuing their education through our online learning program, or delaying their education.It is strongly recommended that the student seek help from the Veteran's Affairs representative on campus, or Student Services.
