New York is one of the most exciting cities in the world! New York is a culturally diverse and rich in its cultural contributions from museums, parks, restaurants, and diverse neighborhoods to cherished local landmarks such as Yankee Stadium, The Empire State Building and Radio City Music Hall. Any time is the perfect time to explore all New York has to offer.
PURPOSE:
Sponsored by the English Language Learners Institute (ELLI) at Monroe College, the American language and Culture program offers highly-motivated students from around the world the opportunity to experience college life, while exploring all that New York has to offer.
The American language and Culture Program combines language instruction with extracurricular activities. It will introduce participants to American society, government, and education while enhancing their English language ability. Through academic programs, visits to public and private institutions, and social events with Americans in informal settings, participants will become acquainted with individual Americans and with the “American way of life.”
