Awarded for one award year (3 semesters if Fall start; 2 if Winter start; 1 if Spring start) to freshmen on a case by case basis. The award may be up to $500 per semester. The amount is determined by the appropriate administrator on the New Rochelle campus and the appropriate administrator on the Bronx campus.
The EIG grant of up to $500 may be awarded to students who have graduated from high school in the past year, who commit to Monroe for the Fall semester before March 1 and have a completed financial aid package by May 31. This is only awarded for a student's first year of study (Fall, Winter, Spring semesters) and cannot be extended. Students receiving an EIG are not eligible for the NY Metro Grant.
CGR grants may be awarded on a case by case basis by the appropriate college administrator.
Employee grants cover the cost of tuition and fees for employees, their children and/or spouses. Children of employees are expected to apply for financial aid. Course approval forms must be reviewed and signed by the President of the College and the appropriate Financial Aid administrator is notified accordingly. Students receiving an EGR are not eligible for Monroe scholarships or any other Monroe grants. Employees taking MBA courses will be given an EGR for up to two courses per semester. Those enrolled in the BBA program may also be limited to two courses per semester.
This is a one-time continuing undergraduate student award of up to $300 to offset the cost of books for students who have secured sufficient sources of tuition funding, but do not have funds for their books. Students must complete an application and must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Applications are due the 3rd week of each semester and may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office.
A grant of $500 (based on full-time attendance) awarded to children of Monroe graduates. Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0. It may be pro-rated for part-time study. Students who fall below the 2.0 GPA requirement may be put on probation for the following semester. This award began in F '04 and cannot be retroactively awarded.
As of 2009/10, a grant of $750 per semester for full-time students and $375 for less than full-time students, who are active professionals in the criminal justice field with arresting powers. Proof of employment in the criminal justice field is required. It is awarded when the student enters the college and must be approved by the appropriate administrator. Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0. Students who fall below the 2.0 GPA requirement may be put on probation for the following semester.
A grant of up to $400 per course may be granted to full Online learning students. It is awarded by the Distance Learning Office to incoming online students on a case by case basis and continues until graduation. Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Students who fall below the 2.0 GPA requirement may be put on probation for the following semester.
As of 2009/10 commuter students, who have graduated from high school in the past year with EFCs of zero will be eligible for this grant of $ 577 for one award year (3 semesters if Fall start; 2 if Winter start; 1 if Spring start). It cannot be extended. Students who receive the NYM grant are not eligible for EIG awards.
A grant of $750 for full-time students (12 or more credits) and $375 for less than full-time students ( 3 to 11 credits) who are employed by an organization that has a partnership agreement with Monroe College. Contact the Admissions Office to determine eligibility.
As of 2009/10, veterans qualifying for the Yellow Ribbon program may receive an award equal to the amount necessary to cover tuition and fees. Students must contact the appropriate Veterans' Benefits Counselor.
- This grant is for entering graduate and undergraduate students and replaces the GIS grant.
- The grant may range from $500 to $1500 per semester and will be determined on a case by case basis dependent on prior academic achievement and dorm status.
- Students receiving this grant may also be eligible to receive a Monroe Scholarship for undergraduate study.
- Three grant programs have been established by the Board of Trustees of Monroe College. One for undergraduate students in the Criminal Justice program, one for students participating in the Study Abroad Program and one open to students of any major.
- Eligible candidates must have completed at least one semester, have a GPA of 3.25,and have demonstrated financial need to cover any combination of tuition fees, books, housing or meal plan and have demonstrated a positive attitude about the College and constructive relationships with faculty, administrators , staff and other students.

- This grant will be awarded to students who are currently employed in the criminal justice system with arresting powers and have at least two years of service in law enforcement. The award is $1500 per semester for three classes; $1,000, for two classes; $500, for one class. Students must remain in good standing at the graduate level to maintain this grant. Students are responsible for informing the KSG of their employment in the law enforcement field and possible eligibility for this grant.
