Specific CGR grants may be awarded to students by the appropriate college administrator based on unanticipated changes to the student’s financial aid package or other financial circumstances. These may be awarded to continuing and freshmen on a case by case basis.
This is a one-time one-semester award of up to $300 to offset the cost of books for students who have maximized their sources of tuition funding, but still do not have funds for their books. Students must complete and submit an application by the 2nd week of the semester and must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 Applications may be obtained from the Student Financial Services Office. Applications for students who have already received a Milavec Award in a previous semester will be considered if funds are available after qualifying first-time applicants have been awarded.
A grant of up to 20% of tuition or the or remaining need for tuition costs not to exceed 20% for students who are employed by an organization that has a partnership agreement with Monroe College. Awards may be pro-rated for less than full-time study. Proof of employment is required. The grant may be awarded to freshmen as well as continuing students. Freshmen should contact the appropriate Admissions Office and continuing students, the appropriate Student Financial Services Office.
Baccalaureate scholarships of $550 per semester are initially awarded to continuing Monroe students entering the Bachelor’s program who have earned a minimum of 60 credits with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 from their Associate Degree.
Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.75 based on baccalaureate grades only in order to continue receiving the scholarship. No applications are required.
