INTS (INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS)
Presidential Scholarship (PRES)

Up to $13,500 per award year to high school seniors with GPAs of 90 or in top 10% of class or SAT scores of 1800 or better.   Students must maintain a 3.00 GPA and full-time status. The scholarship remains in effect until the completion of undergraduate studies.  Awards may range up to $4,500 per semester based on a student’s financial aid.

Trustees Scholarship (TRUST)

Up to $7,500 per award year to high school seniors with GPAs of 85 or in top 20% of class or SAT scores of 1650 or better.  Students must maintain a 3.00 cum. GPA. The scholarship remains in effect   until the completion of undergraduate studies.  Awards may range up to $2,500 per semester based on a student’s financial aid.

Deans Scholarship (DEAN)

Up to $4,500 per award year to high school seniors with GPAs of 80 or in top 30% of class or with SAT scores of 1500 or better or demonstrated academic potential. Students must maintain a 3.00 GPA. The scholarship remains in effect until the completion of undergraduate studies.  Awards my range up to $1,500 per semester based on a student’s financial aid.

C-CAP SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is only available to C-CAP students and may be up to $6,600 per semester.   It is awarded to participating high school students  who both academically qualify and place in culinary competitions nationwide and have been recommended by the C-CAP Executive Board. The Dean of the School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts is responsible for finalizing this award for entering full-time freshmen Culinary or Baking and Pastry students. The scholarship remains in effect until completion of undergraduate studies in the hospitality field. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Prostart Culinary Scholarship (Pros)

ProStart is a national high school program for culinary and hospitality students.  Scholarships are offered to exemplary students who complete and pass the ProStart certification exam.  Awards may be up to $6,000 per year and are awarded at the discretion of the Dean of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts.  The scholarship remains in effect until the completion of undergraduate studies in the hospitality field. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

America’s Best High School Chef and Pastry Chef (HSCS)

Monroe College offers full and partial scholarships to the winner(s) of the Monroe College sponsored competition for America’s Best High School Chef. The awards may range up to    $6,600 per semester. Students wishing to take part in this competition must contact the Dean of the School of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts. The scholarship remains in effect until the completion of undergraduate studies in the hospitality field. Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Monroe Opportunity Scholarship (MOS) No longer offered as of Fall 2012.

Students who received this award prior to Fall 2012, will continue to receive a MOS award, which may range between $1,500 and $2,000 per semester until the completion of their undergraduate studies.  Students must remain in good academic standing and must be living in Monroe housing or have been former dormitory residents, who provide documentation of their off-campus housing to the Student Financial Services office before the start of the semester.

INTS (INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS)

International scholarships of up to $3,500 may be awarded per semester to incoming freshmen based on their high school records or to upper level freshmen based on their prior college credit.  This award lasts through the student’s undergraduate studies. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00. The awards are competitive based on the rigor of the high school program or prior college attended.  No minimum grade point average guarantees an award. 

International students receiving this scholarship who must return to their country in an authorized semester and attend Monroe in a less than full-time status by taking classes on-line will receive a pro-rated scholarship.  Upon returning to full-time status on campus, the full scholarship will be awarded if eligibility has been maintained.

Part-time Status for Scholarship students

Scholarship students, other than International students, who go from full-time to part-time, will receive a pro-rated scholarship for their part-time semester, but will not be eligible for the scholarship the semester following their part-time status. Scholarship students who are in their last semester and will be part-time will receive a pro-rated scholarship.

  • All scholarships are originally awarded based on full-time enrollment status.
  • Students who enter the college as Bachelor students may not receive the Baccalaureate Scholarship until they have completed their Associate Degree requirements or earned a minimum of 60 credits. At that time, they will receive the Baccalaureate Scholarship if they have the required cumulative GPA of 3.75.
  • Students may only receive one merit scholarship funded by Monroe College
  • Scholarship Appeals: Students may appeal the loss of their scholarship by contacting the Director of the appropriate Student Services Office. Documentation supporting the appeal will be required before any decision is made.
