King Graduate School Scholarships

Scholarship Name	Amount	General Criteria
Carolyn Chiang and Luo-Jen Chiang Scholarship (MLC)	The awards may be up to $500	This scholarship will provide up to four one-time only awards of $500 each to students in the M.B.A. program at the King Graduate School. Awards will be based on the evaluation of the student’s personal self-nomination essay, which must be submitted in electronic form (MS Word) to the Dean of the King Graduate School. Contact the KGS Office for semester deadlines. This scholarship is privately funded, open to all students and has no GPA threshold. The required essay is determined by the donor and may change from year to year. The final award decision is made by the donor of these funds.

Mayor’s Graduate Scholarship Program (MGSP)	Up to 50% tuition discount	Awards provide up to 50% tuition discount. Students must be full-time employees of the City of New York. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 to retain the scholarship. The contact person at Monroe College is the Dean of the King Graduate School on the appropriate campus.

Part-time Status for Scholarship students

Scholarship students, other than International students, who go from full-time to part-time, will receive a pro-rated scholarship for their part-time semester, but will not be eligible for the scholarship the semester following their part-time status. Scholarship students who are in their last semester and will be part-time will receive a pro-rated scholarship.

All scholarships are originally awarded based on full-time enrollment status.
Students who enter the college as Bachelor students may not receive the Baccalaureate Scholarship until they have completed their Associate Degree requirements or earned a minimum of 60 credits. At that time, they will receive the Baccalaureate Scholarship if they have the required cumulative GPA of 3.75.
Students may only receive one merit scholarship funded by Monroe College
Scholarship Appeals: Students may appeal the loss of their scholarship by contacting the Director of Student Financial Services at the appropriate campus. Documentation supporting the appeal will be required before any decision is made. At that time the appeal process will be discussed.
